At the annual Toy Fair hosted by the Toy Industry Association in New York City, bigwig toymaker Mattel announced the latest addition to the Hello Barbie line of products --- the Hello Barbie Dreamhouse.
The Hello Barbie Dreamhouse is an upgraded and tech-enabled house for the Hello Barbie doll. The house, which comes with Wi-Fi connectivity, has been developed by Mattel together with ToyTalk startup.
All the elements of the Hello Barbie Dreamhouse – including its lights, elevators, appliances, and even music – can be controlled by voice commands; thanks to the use of ToyTalk’s voice recognition technology. The house’s ability to take actions on the basis of voice commands gives it a functionality which is similar to the Apple Siri or Amazon Alexa digital personal assistants.
The Hello Barbie Dreamhouse will come with three pre-set modes, each of which will offer the children the advantage of different lighting, distinct music scheme, and a different dialog, depending on their play. The three pres-set modes of the house are: Hangout mode, Dance Party mode, and Fun House mode.
Unveiling the new Hello Barbie Dreamhouse at the Toy Fair, Mattel said that the house is scheduled to hit the markets in fall this year; priced at $300.
