A series of free online posters has been released by the NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory at the California Institute of Technology. The 14 posters revealed by the lab are associated with space travel and are not only retro-chic but also amazing in terms of creativity and design. These futuristic posters highlight space tourism. One poster has a tagline: ‘A Once in a Lifetime Getaway: The Grand Tour’, which involves Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune trips.
These interplanetary travel posters have been released as part of a new series known as 'Vision of the Future'. "Imagination is our window into the future. New travel posters envision a day when the creativity of scientists and engineers will allow us to do things we can only dream of now. Take a trip to 14 alien worlds via the new, futuristic space tourism posters," said the organization. Each of the 14 posters has been given a tagline. Invisible Creature, a Seattle-based design and illustration studio, developed three of these posters.
One of the posters depicts the experience of a trip to a colony located on Mars having crop cultivation and water. This poster has been inspired by post-war WPA propaganda and classic travel posters. Another poster was based on European voyages of the past. The poster displayed prospective tourists on a 'Grand Tour', which will be unique alignment between Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. The trip will also involve the explosive geysers located on Enceladus.
The aim behind creating these posters was to make people hang them on their walls, provide people with something beautiful and creating something that matched the standards of NASA, according to one of the designers behind the project, Don Clark. Posters have been given attractive taglines as ‘Venus—See You At The Cloud 9 Conservatory,’ and ‘Kepler186f—Where The Grass Is Always Redder On The Other Side,’ the ‘Visions of The Future.’
