In a Thursday announcement, software giant Microsoft said that it is launching a number of products to beef up the cloud security for its Office 365, Azure, and SharePoint Online cloud services.
The launch of new cloud security products -- highlighting Microsoft's dedicated pursuit of its 2015-announced holistic approach philosophy for enterprise security -- implies that Microsoft is apparently set to pose a stiffer competition to Amazon and Google cloud platforms.
In its announcement of the addition of new security features to its cloud services, Microsoft said that it will offer more online security tools to ensure improved cloud security to the companies using its services.
Microsoft has also revealed in the announcement that, along with bringing about a notable improvement in reporting and security management capabilities for Office 365 and Azure, tools for threat visualization and identity protection are also being integrated to cloud services for offering real-time insights and predictive intelligence.
In reference to the new cloud security features announced by Microsoft, the company's CISO Bret Arsenault said in a blog post: "As attackers get more sophisticated, we need to evolve our ability to get real-time insights and predictive intelligence across our network so we can stay a step ahead of the threats."
