A new image sent by NASA’s Mars rover Curiosity has sparked a lot of speculation about possible alien life on the red planet in ancient times.
The image is believed to show Mars Cave Crab that many say points to the life structures in ancient Mars. The high-resolution image from the Curiosity was taken on 29 July, 2014 and many describe the image as a small artillery cannon and the crab monster.
However, senior astronomers and experts in the field have said that it is unlikely that the image is evidence of alien life on the planet. They said that it is just pareidolia, a phenomenon in which the mind makes shapes out of objects to resemble things like seeing shapes of animals in clouds.
The image has sparked a lot of speculation on the social media and many people are posting it with astonishment and speculation. Some say that the object seems to resemble a crab-like monster from some type of science fiction. However, it is most likely just a stone formation and may not be evidence of anything significant.
There is a lot of curiosity about the planet and several probes have been sent to study the planet closely.NASA’s Mars Atmosphere and Volatile Evolution (MAVEN) and India’s Mars Orbiter Mission joined the 2003 Mars Express from ESA (the European Space Agency) and two from NASA: the 2001 Mars Odyssey and the 2006 Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO).
