Mandla Mandela, grandson of former president Nelson Mandela, has been charged with assault in Mthatha. Mandla drew firearm after a local teacher hit the car of Mandla’s business associate. The charges include pointing a firearm, intention to harm.
After the incident, the 44-year old teacher Mlamli Ngudle filed a report with local police.
Mthatha magistrate court held the hearing. Mandla appeared for the hearing. The next hearing will be on February 24.
Defence attorney Kenny Oldwage requested more time from the court to check the charges and file a reply.
The family of the complainant was also present during the hearing.
