In an evident response to the efforts undertaken by Facebook and Twitter to curb terrorist activity on their social networking platforms, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey have been threatened directly in a propaganda video released by Islamic State supporters.
The video has been posted to the Telegram social media service -- which is used by ISIS -- and was first spotted by Vocativ deep web analysts.
In the 25-minute video, an extremist group called ‘the Sons of the Caliphate Army’ has made threats against Zuckerberg and Dorsey. The video features images of the two tech leaders engulfed in flames or targeted by bullets.
Towards the end of the video, a slide has the following message written in English: “To Mark and Jack, founders of Twitter and Facebook / and to their Crusader government / You announce daily that you suspended many of our accounts.”
A part of the message further says: “If you close one account we will take 10 in return and soon your names will be erased after we delete you [sic] sites, Allah willing, and will know that we say is true. #Sons_Caliphate_Army.”
Moreover, another slide shown in the video claims that the extremist group has hacked over 10,000 Facebook accounts and more than 5,000 Twitter accounts, as well as 150 Facebook groups.
