Samsung launches classroom-ready ‘Galaxy Tab 4 Education’ tablet in US

Samsung has recently launched a classroom-ready tablet - the 'Galaxy Tab 4 Education' - in the US. The key objective behind Samsung's launch of the new tablet is to take on the Apple iPad.

So far as the hardware of the newly-released Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 Education tablet is concerned, the tablet is essentially a Galaxy 4 10.1 tablet with a rugged case - to help the tablet survive a fall from a desk - and some smart additions.

The Galaxy Tab 4 Education tablet has been ruggedized with Gorilla Glass and it ships with a protective, easy-grip black rubber case. The tablet includes Near-Field Communication (NFC) technology for fast, easy provisioning; and it offers the advantage of passing settings and content from one tablet to another by merely pressing two tablets together.

With software being the real highlight of the new Galaxy Tab 4 Education tablet, the device boasts the inclusion of books, videos, and educational apps, as well as trouble-free access to Google Play for Education app store.

Priced at $370, the new Galaxy Tab 4 Education tablet - available only to educators - costs a slight premium; though schools apparently will want to add on another $30 to the cost if they want to facilitate their lessons via the Google Play for Education advantage.
