Unite Presses MPs to Turn Down the Health and Social Care Bill

Before the controversial NHS reforms enter the final round in the House of Commons, a strong objection is being heard from Unite, which has come all out to make sure that the proposed Health and Social Care Bill would not gain the required majority.

It has been reported that to garner the general opinion about the NHS reforms, a survey was done on 1,000 of its members, which has made it loud and clear that the fear of NHS getting private after the implementation of the NHS reforms is rational enough, with 70% viewing the proposed Health and Social Care Bill as anti-democracy.

Voicing grave concern, Unite National Officer Rachael Maskell claimed that the survey results have reinforced that the reforms proposed by the David Cameron led government are promoting health care providers, thereby putting the patient's health and care at risk.

Introducing 500 new commissioning bodies to replace 162 NHS organizations, as part of the NHs reforms, is said to have made it crystal clear that government is serious to rehaul the entire health model considering the benefits of private healthcare providers in mind.

Amid growing outrage, Health Minister Earl Howe assured that whatever is being done is to provide the best possible health care service to millions of patients.
