T-Mobile makes two ‘Un-Carrier announcements’ --- Test Drive, and streaming musi

At an evening event held in Seattle on Wednesday, T-Mobile made two `Un-Carrier' announcements --- Un-Carrier 5.0 and Un-Carrier 6.0.

The Un-Carrier 5.0 announcement made by T-Mobile pertained to a Test Drive offer; while the surprise Un-Carrier 6.0 announcement unfolded an unlimited streaming music offer, starting with immediate effect.

Under T-Mobile's Un-carrier 5.0 Test Drive offer, any consumer can avail a free seven-day test drive of the carrier's data network with an Apple iPhone 5s handset. The deal has further been sweetened by T-Mobile by giving new customers the advantage of high-speed streaming music which does not affect their data plans.

According to the information shared by T-Mobile CEO John Legere at the Seattle event, anyone can sign up for the company's Test Drive program from June 23 onwards. Legere said that for the duration of Test Drive, T-Mobile will ship out an iPhone 5s; and added that the cell network will work in co-operation with Apple.

With regard to the unlimited streaming music deal, Legere said that the subscribers of T-Mobile's Simple Choice plans can now listen to streaming music - which never counts against their data bucket - from Pandora, Rhapsody, Slacker, Spotify, iHeartRadio, and iTunes Radio. In addition, all T-Mobile customers can also stream from Samsung's Milk Music and SPX's upcoming Beatport music app, also without data charges.
