Snapchat Update eliminates the Best Friend Feature

The latest update of Snapchat has broken the heart of a lot of teenagers, as 'Best Friends' feature has gone. The self-destructing messaging app has removed this stalker-friendly feature.

In a statement to ABC News, Snapchat CEO Evan Spiegel said that his company has eliminated the Best Friends feature because "a few higher-profile friends wanted to keep their usernames private". Although the update removed the feature, but Spiegel has promised the comeback of the feature soon, that too 'in a new form'.

The day Snapchat was launched, people fell in love with its 'Best Friends' feature. The feature makes it possible for you to spy on your friends and lover. With the help of it, you can keep an eye on the people who chat with your friends and lovers the most.

For example, you can find out if your girlfriend or boyfriend was texting somebody. You can even stalk a handsome, a cutie to see if they give you any competition. But, alas, the feature has gone now and has turned spying into a much tougher task.

Social sites, including Twitter and Facebook, are full of comments with mixed reactions on the Snapchat update. Some are relieved that no one will be able to keep an eye on them, while others are against the removal of the feature.

Snapchatters are showing their disappointment at every possible platform to make Snapchat owners realize the importance of 'Best Friends' in their lives.

A lot of Snapchatters wants it to be a bad dream. They want it to come back, but the company has not given any details about the comeback of the new 'Best Friends' feature. They just mentioned that the feature will return eventually.

Till then, stay hopeful Snapchaters.
