Samsung Gear S3 smartwatch pre-orders start Nov. 6; shipping to begin Nov. 18
South Korean device maker Samsung's latest Tizen-based smartwatch - the Samsung Gear 3 - will be available for pre-orders this week, and will also start shipping to customers in a few days. The new Gear 3 smartwatch was unveiled by Samsung at the 2016 IFA event some months back.
In accordance with earlier reports that Samsung will launch the Gear 3 smartwatch in the US in mid-November, the smartwatch will become available for pre-orders with effect from November 6; though AT&T will start taking pre-orders for the device from November 4.
The smartwatch will likely start shipping out on November 18, the day it is expected to hit the store shelves.
The Samsung Gear 3 smartwatch will be available in two variants --- the elegant 'Classic' model; and the more rugged 'Frontier' model. The starting price of both the models of the Gear 3 smartwatch will be $350.
Some of the features common to both Classic and Frontier models of Gear 3 smartwatch include 1.3-screens coated in scratch-resistant Gorilla Glass SR+; a dual-core Exynos chipset; a stainless steel chassis; and IP68 rating for water resistance; 786MB of RAM; 4GB of storage capacity; GPS; and a 380mAh battery.
