Samsung to announce Samsung Galaxy S6 on March 1

According to reports published in Sammobile, the South Korean technology major Samsung has started posting official invites for an event in March this year, where the company will announce its Samsung Galaxy S6. The invite reads 'What's next'. The event is going to happen at Barcelona, Spain, during the Mobile World Congress.

Earlier, a leaked design of the phone showed a curvier look for the Galaxy S6. The design of the South Korean company's new phone looks similar to iPhone 6. Earlier, Apple had a record quarter where it sold 74.5 million iPhones. It is not clear whether Samsung will launch two variants of the new model Galaxy S6, one standard and second with curvy variant like Note-Edge.

Sammobile further reported, "Coming back to the emphasis on the 'curve', it could be possible that instead of having another curved variant, the standard version of the Galaxy S6 have a curved design akin to the Note Edge."

According to some reports, the company's Galaxy S6 mobile could have an Ultra HD 4k display. Adding to that, the mobile could have 4GB Random Access Memory (RAM), 20 MP camera and 5 megapixel front camera. The Galaxy S6 could also feature 5.3-inch 4K AMOLED display with Snapdragon 810 processor.

As per the reports, the company's new design could be released with Exynos 7 and LTE. Primarily, the company was testing the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset, but it was found to cause overheating. After that, the company had dropped the idea to use the Snapdragon 810 SoC. The American global semiconductor company Qualcomm had agreed to revise the Snapdragon 810 SoC for Samsung's flagship device.

Some experts had earlier predicted that Exynos 7 could enable the company to get a good market share in the mobile applications processor business.
