Report: Apple Watch will have nearly 19 hours of "mixed" battery life

According to a late Thursday report on tech blog 9to5Mac, the much-reported Apple Watch wearable device – which is scheduled to hit the markets later this year – will probably last through the day on a single charge, if used moderately.

The 9to5Mac report is in line with some earlier reports which claimed that the Apple Watch will likely have to be recharged every day. As per the 9to5Mac report, Apple is apparently aiming to get 19 hours of ‘mixed’ – active as well as passive – use out of the Apple Watch device.

Apple is reportedly hoping that the battery of the Apple Watch will last for 2.5 hours to 4 hours when users are using apps; and for almost 19 hours when they are checking apps and also allowing the device to rest.

However, it is not sure whether Apple will actually be able to meet the mentioned battery-life targets for the Watch device. Nonetheless, the 9to5Mac report has noted that the Watch will probably be able to stay on for 2-3 days in standby or other power-saving modes.

Meanwhile, with the 9to5Mac and some other reports pointing out that the Apple Watch’s powerful processor and a top-notch screen will apparently impact the device’s battery life, Creative Strategies’ analyst Tim Bajarin said about the Watch and its battery life: "From the beginning, you better have a quality product that has a lot of value, even if strains the battery."
