Microsoft’s popular version of Solitaire comes to iOS and Android

In a Wednesday announcement, Microsoft said that it is launching the popular Microsoft Solitaire game on the iOS and Android platforms.

The Microsoft version of the Solitaire game – which the company considers to be the “world’s number 1 Solitaire game” – has thus far been available only for Windows users. The game has been played by nearly 119 million people on Windows 8 and Windows 10.

In announcing that its popular Solitaire version is now available for gamers using the iPhone and Android smartphones, Microsoft said that the game can now be downloaded for free on iOS and Android devices under the name ‘Microsoft Solitaire Collection’ app.

Microsoft also said that, along with the free version of the ‘Microsoft Solitaire Collection’ app, it will also offer a ‘Premium Edition’ for which it will charge $1.99 per month. The users of the Premium Edition will be able to remove ads on the app and also unlock several other features.

According to Microsoft’s announcement, the ‘Microsoft Solitaire Collection’ app comprises five different Solitaire games --- Klondike, Spider, FreeCell, Pyramid, and Tripeaks. In addition, the app also includes daily challenges for gamers.
