Google gives users an option to download their saved search history

Google has revealed in a recent blog post that its users will now have the option to download all of their saved search history. The search histories which users can now download from Google include the searches which they have made across computers and handsets.

The new feature was quietly released by Google last January, and was recently surfaced by a Google blog published over this past weekend.

While disclosing the availability of the option for users to download all their saved search history from Google, the company has asserted that the search histories which can be downloaded are not 100-percent comprehensive. They include only those searches which users have made while remaining signed in on their Google account.

For downloading the search histories, Google users have to go to their Web & App Activity page; and click on 'Download' on the Options icon in the top right corner. Thereafter, the users have to click on 'Create Archive.' Upon the completion of the download, users will get an email from Google, with a confirmation link to the data.

About the option enabling Google users to download their search history, Google said: "When you download your past searches, a copy of your history will be saved securely to the Takeout folder in Google Drive. You can download the files to your computer if you want a copy on your computer."
