Global Payments’ OpenEdge division fully supports Apple Pay mobile payment platf

In a recent announcement, Global Payments Inc - one of the world's biggest providers of payment solutions globally - has revealed that Apple's new Apple Pay mobile payment platform is fully supported by is Integrated Solutions division, OpenEdge.

According to Global Payments, OpenEdge's partnership with Apple for the Apple Pay system will help deliver the company's new mobile-payments service to over 2,000 integrated software application developers.

With OpenEdge fully supporting the Apple Pay service, the new mobile-payments platform will be added to OpenEdge's software development kit, thereby giving developers the ability to embed the payment service into their apps.

Global Payments has asserted that the addition of Apple Pay underscores a significant move by the company in the direction of bringing secure as well as innovative commerce to its consumers. In addition, the move also aligns with the security infrastructure announced by MasterCard, Visa and American Express.

Noting that Global Payments is "excited our partners, across verticals, will be able to access mobile payments through Apple Pay," OpenEdge SVP and General Manager Sid Singh said: "Online purchases in apps through Apple Pay will transform how consumers interact with merchants."
