Egyptian woman sheds 713 Lbs.; sister calls doctors ‘liars’
Eman Ahmed Abd El Aty, an Egyptian woman who once made global headlines form being the world’s heaviest woman, has successfully shed 713 lbs.
After surpassing 1,102 lbs. in weight, El Aty underwent laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy surgery at on 9th of March at Saifee Hospital. After nearly a couple of months at the hospital, she now weighs just 389 lbs.
In a press conference, the Save Eman Cause said, “The team of doctors at Saifee Hospital has done a fabulous job and her recovery has been unprecedented. She is stable and all parameters are under control. She will continue to need neurological rehabilitation and physiotherapy.”
El Aty, 36, came to the hospital on a chartered cargo plane but after the surgery she went back as a passenger on a common flight in business class.
But, El Aty’s sister Shaimaa Selim has called the doctors ‘liars,’ claiming that her sister has not lost as much weight as her doctors claimed. She alleged that her sister was not able to talk and move, and that she is looking bluish with no improvement.
However, the doctors dismissed Shaimaa Selim’s allegations as a “complete hogwash”.
