Disruptions hit Facebook, eBay and Apple

Disruptions hit Facebook, eBay and Apple

Over the past two days, disruptions have hit Facebook, eBay, and Apple. As a result of the disruptions, the users have not been able to access some or all of the websites of these three companies.

Acknowledging the disruption issues, Facebook said in a Wednesday statement that its users had, for a brief period, experienced difficulties in gaining access to the social networking site. Facebook said that the disruptions started after the company "encountered an error while making an infrastructure configuration change;" and added that the issue was fixed quickly after it was discovered.

In an emailed statement, Facebook also said: "We apologize for the inconvenience and will thoroughly investigate this issue so we can learn from it and ensure that Facebook is there when people need it."

Meanwhile, in a website statement released on Wednesday, eBay also said that some users were facing difficulty in signing in to its site. The company said that the problem was apparently rooted in "technical issues that occurred during scheduled server maintenance."

Earlier, on Tuesday, Apple has admitted in a statement that some of the iTunes users were seemingly "unable to access multiple stores or make purchases." According to the Apple website, the disruption was experienced by users from 3:30 p. m. to 9 p. m.
