Cervical Screenings for Wirral Women

Cervical Screenings for Wirral Women

It has been recently reveled in a report that women from Wirral have been asked to go for a health checkups for cervical cancer. This promotion is being done in wake of the Cervical Cancer Awareness Week which is to start soon.

The NHS is making more and more people aware of the event and urging women to come for their cervical screenings, which are better known as the Pap smear tests. This shall be helpful for them in being able to put off the possibilities of any sort of anomalies in the future.

The cervical cancer is one of the most complicated forms of the disease and it is important women take a note of their health conditions and go about visiting their GPs for these tests regularly. It is essential for them to find out if they are at a risk of such a disease, and they need to find out as soon as they can, so that it can be effectively prevented.

“The event builds on the success of our recent NHS Wirral campaign where we sent 1682 letters to all 25 - 34 year old women who had never had a cervical screen in Wirral to remind them about taking up the offer of regular smear tests”, said Claire Elliott, the Senior Health Protection Practitioner for the NHS Wirral.

It is essential that the women take heed of these letters and get themselves screened so that they find out about their impending risks of the disease. It is important that women take good care of their health and get these tests done regularly, so that the risk of the disease can be assessed well, and can be removed at the right time.
