AT&T to offer Samsung's new Galaxy Tab S tablets

US wireless carrier AT&T has said in a recent announcement that it will be one of the first US carriers to offer Samsung's latest flagship tablet - the Galaxy Tab S, which will be available in two variants --- the 8.4-inch model and the 10.5-inch model.

The announcement by AT&T comes a few days after Samsung's unveiling of both the versions of its new Galaxy Tab S tablet at an event held in New York City on June 12. Samsung had touted the stunning, high-resolution 2560 x 1600 Super AMOLED displays of the new tablets.

The AT&T Samsung Galaxy Tab Stablets will be powered by a 2.3 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor. In addition, the tablets will also feature an Adreno 330 GPU; 3 GB of RAM; Android 4.4.2 KitKat; an 8-megapixel rear camera; and a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera.

Though AT&T has not disclosed whether it will offer both the 16 GB and 32 GB models of the Galaxy Tab S tablets, the carrier has said that, in terms of connectivity, the AT&T versions of Galaxy Tab S will a 4G LTE radio, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, NFC, GPS, and IR Blaster which converts the tablet into a universal remote control.

Stating that AT&T is "excited to bring the Samsung Galaxy Tab S to the nation's most reliable 4G LTE network2," Jeff Bradley - the company's SVP for devices - said: "The Galaxy Tab S with access to 4G LTE will bring innovative new features and capabilities to Android device users."
