Amazon may announce the launch of Echo in UK, at its Sept 14 event in London
On Friday, US-based online retail giant Amazon sent out a typically cryptic invite to an event which the company is scheduled to host in London on Wednesday, September 14.
Though the invitations sent out by Amazon for the forthcoming London event does not offer any concise information about what the event is related to, it is widely being speculated that the company may announce the launch of its Amazon Echo voice-controlled speaker and smart home hub in the UK.
The important clues from the invitation which hint at the possible launch of Amazon Echo in the UK include a bluish-greenish glow from the top of the box. A closer look at the glow reveals a slight resemblance to orb which is used by Amazon on the marketing materials for the Echo.
The speculations about the Echo’s UK launch are apparently rooted in the fact that Amazon launched its Dash buttons – which enable consumers to place instant product reorders – in the UK, Germany and Austria earlier this week.
The expected launch of Amazon Echo in the UK will mark the first ever availability of the voice-controlled speaker outside the US.
Meanwhile, other than the speculations related to the Echo launch in the UK, it is also being assumed that Amazon’s London event may witness the launch of something new in the Amazon Fire tablet lineup, or it may possibly be a TV-themed product launch.
