Elon Musk-led e-carmaker Tesla unveiled the eagerly-awaited Model 3 on Friday, around a year after the renowned innovator provided a sneak peek at a prototype of the vehicle.

Mr. Musk used Twitter to post a short video of the Model 3 yesterday, showing a release candidate version of the new electric vehicle. The video shows the new car accelerating with quickness.

He also clarified that the Model 3 e-car is not a successor to the existing Model S. Model 3 is only a smaller, more affordable version of Model S w. The Model S comes equipped with more superior technology.

The Falcon 9 rocket was moved from the space firm’s processing hangar at the base of the pad 39A using a massive transporter before dawn on Friday. Then, it was erected to the vertical launch position as part of preparations for the “hot fire” test.
