Hyundai is working on new fuel cell SUV with 348 mile range

In a move which underscores a potential effort by bigwig automaker Hyundai to up its fuel game, a Nikkei report -- via Motor Trend -- has revealed that the automaker is planning to bring about a substantial increase in range for its hydrogen-powered Tucson, the company’s five-seat crossover.

According to the report, Hyundai is working on a new fuel cell SUV which will apparently have the capability to offer up to 30 percent more range as compared to its predecessor.

Tesla announced a fee of 40 cents per minute on users leaving their car on the charging point for more than 5 minutes after their vehicle has been charged.

Audi to create a subsidiary devoted to self-driving car technology

German newspaper Stuttgarter Zeitung has revealed in a recent report (via Reuters) that automaker Audi is setting up a new subsidiary which will be devoted to development of self-driving car technology.

The new Audi subsidiary will be called SDS Company.

The disclosure about the new Audi subsidiary to the German newspaper was made by Audi’s CEO Rupert Stadler during an interaction with the paper this past weekend. Stadler said that Audi’s future investment will chiefly pivot around ‘emerging technology’ categories, like self-driving cars and electric vehicles.
