Ants' Corpses help New Spider species  Protect Nest

A new species of Spider Wasp has been discovered in Jiangxi Province, South-east China. The discovery was made possible after using a unique method of defending its nest. Deuteragenia ossarium was named the Bone-House wasp, which uses the corpses of ants to ensure their protection from potential predators. The name is for the ossuaries that were used to store bones of the dead.

According to a Bloomberg report, tech giant Apple apparently has plans underway to commence the production of two new bigger-screen iPhones in July. The mass production for the biggest-ever iPhones will begin at Apple suppliers in China next month.

The report, based on the information shared by unidentified sources, has revealed that the screens of the two bigger iPhones to be produced by Apple will measure 4.7 inches and 5.5 inches, respectively. The bigger-screen iPhones will also be rounder as well as thinner than the existing iPhone models, which feature 4-inch screens.

Updated Unicode version adds hundreds of new ‘emoji’

Character-encoding standard Unicode has recently been updated to version 7.0, which brings along hundreds of new 'emoji' - the small pictorial representations of things such as a smiling face, a shining sun, or a thumbs-up, among hordes of others - and numerous other updates.

The new 'emoji' which have made their way to the updated Unicode version include spider, chili pepper, dark sunglasses, a hammer, an airplane arriving, a rocket, a satellite, 'live long and prosper' and several others.

China’s central bank cuts requirement to support small firms

China's central bank, People's Bank of China has announced its decision to allow reserve-requirement cut to Industrial Bank Co. and China Minsheng Banking Corp in order to allow the small firms to boost business.

The central bank is aiming to boost economic growth without the need for a large scale economic stimulus programme. The PBOC has approved a half percentage-point cut for Industrial Bank and Minsheng Bank.

A little over 300 rich Chinese have signed up for space travel which is at a starting price of approximately $100,00 or 600,000 Yuan for a mere six minutes in space. A European company launched "private expeditions" on Thursday which will commence in 2015.

According to official China Daily newspaper, just within one day of the programme's launch, 305 Chinese people had purchased these trips from the Dutch Space Expedition Corporation.

High Protein Diet Associated with Reduced Risk of Stroke: Study

Protein intake has been associated with reduced risk of having a stroke, as per a new study. The study, 'Quantitative analysis of dietary protein intake and stroke risk', found having diet rich in protein eventually helps in reducing disability and death risks.

Researchers from the Nanjing University School of Medicine in Jiangsu Province in China evaluated seven studies involving 254,489 adult participants for around 14 years. Main reason of reviewing the studies was to assess the link between dietary protein intake and risks of stroke.
