New fossilized species of winged dinosaur unearthed in China

A recent excavation at a construction site in Southern China led to the discovery of a new fossilized species of a winged dinosaur that mired in mud and died 66-72 million years ago, Dr. Steve Brusatte of the University of Edinburgh reported.

As the winged creature, dubbed Tongtianlong limosus, died after becoming mired in mud, researchers nicknamed it as the 'Mud Dragon.'

A new research has suggested that China's famous Terracotta Army, which has been guarding the tomb of China's First Emperor Qin Shi Huang for more than two thousand years, was likely designed and carved with the help of ancient Greek sculptors.

A team of historians and archeologists excavated the tomb and concluded that the terracotta statues were significantly influenced by Greek sculpture. The conclusion also indicated that East and West had relations much earlier than previously thought.

According to the report, the Galaxy Note 7 version which Samsung is apparently planning to launch in China will boast a noteworthy upgrade in specifications as compared to the Galaxy Note 7 model which is scheduled to hit other markets across the world on August 19.

In a recent announcement, Chinese company Mobvoi said that it has launched a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign for its new Android-based smartwatch --- the Ticwatch 2. The smartwatch was originally introduced in China earlier this year.

The Ticwatch 2 smartwatch – a successor to the original Ticwatch launched in 2015 – is available at a starting price of less than $100 for Kickstarter backers. The smartwatch will likely hit retail availability in the US and Europe in fall 2016, with its retail cost expected to be between $200 and $300.

A video recently posted to YouTube has offered the first peak at how the iris scanner on Samsung’s forthcoming Galaxy Note 7 handset will work. The handset is scheduled to be unveiled by Samsung on August 2, at the ‘Samsung Unpacked’ event.

According to the video, which was originally published on China's Weibo, the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 iris scanner works in such a way that it gives the smartphone a lightning-fast capability to detect the eyes of the user, and then instantly unlock the screen.
