Uber introduces two new safety features for riders in India

In a move which marks San Francisco-based ride sharing service Uber's response to safety concerns from passengers in India, the company has recently announced the addition of new safety features on its app.

Uber said in its recent announcement that it is introducing two new safety features - a 'panic button' and 'Safety Net' - for riders in India, beginning February 11. The introduction of the new safety-centric features by Uber comes after a December complaint by a woman passenger that she had been raped by a driver working with Uber.
