In an apparent indication that the Apple iPad tablet is witnessing a steady decline in sales, the company said during its Tuesday conference call to report quarterly earnings that iPad sales had witnessed a year-on-year plunge in the September-December 2014 quarter.

The statistics shared by Apple revealed that the sales of the iPad during the December 2014 quarter stood at 21 million units, which marked a notable drop from the 26 million iPad units which the company had sold in the same quarter in 2013.

The Telegraph has revealed in a recent report that US Tech giant Apple will allow the security inspections of its products by the officials of the Chinese government. The security inspections will apparently be focused mainly on identifying back doors which may facilitate third-party access to information stored on the Apple devices.

To enable security inspections of Apple’s products by the China government, the company’s CEO Tim Cook had seemingly put a requisite agreement in place when he met with Lu Wei – the director of China's State Internet Information Office – last year.

According to a late Thursday report on tech blog 9to5Mac, the much-reported Apple Watch wearable device – which is scheduled to hit the markets later this year – will probably last through the day on a single charge, if used moderately.

The 9to5Mac report is in line with some earlier reports which claimed that the Apple Watch will likely have to be recharged every day. As per the 9to5Mac report, Apple is apparently aiming to get 19 hours of ‘mixed’ – active as well as passive – use out of the Apple Watch device.

Technology major Apple increased the salary of CEO Tim Cook more than double after the company's stock increased to record valuation in 2014. The stock market performance and the robust Apple results have been attributed to the successful launch of its latest smartphone models.

According to a stock exchange filing, Cook received $9.22m in total compensation in fiscal year 2014, together with salary of $1.75m and $6.7m in non-equity incentive compensation.
