‘Heroes of the Storm’ Director Dustin Browder leaves game’s development team

In a disclosure made via a post on Blizzard’s forums, Dustin Browder – the Director of the ‘Heroes of the Storm’ game – has said that he is leaving the Heroes of the Storm development team, and moving to a new, unspecified project inside the game studio.

The disclosure by Browder means that a big change is taking place on the leadership team for Blizzard’s Heroes of the Storm PC MOBA (multiplayer online battle arena).

In an announcement made during the course of a livestream at the Gamescom event held in Cologne, Germany, on Tuesday, Blizzard said that it is releasing the first new map for the Overwatch competitive shooter since its launch.

The first new map which Blizzard has announced for Overwatch is a Medieval-themed map called ‘Eichenwalde.’ Set in the suburbs of Stuttgart, Germany, the ‘Eichenwalde’ map -- with a castle and a tiny old-world village -- is a hybrid Assault/Escort map.

Blizzard is seeking new game director to "lead the Diablo series into the future

In coincidence with the recent confirmation that Diablo III game director Josh Mosqueira is leaving the company, Blizzard Entertainment has posted a new job listing on its careers page. The job posting by Blizzard reveals that the company is looking to hire a new game director for a yet-to-be-announced game.

However, in its job listing for the new game director, Blizzard has not clarified as to whether the company plans to release Diablo IV, a new expansion for Diablo III, or something else.

Activision Blizzard lowers revenue and profit guidance for 2015

Activision Blizzard on Thursday said that it expects lower revenue and profit in 2015. The videogame publisher projected a full-year revenue of $4.14 billion and per-share profit of 89 cents a share. The company in the previous year projected revenue of $4.41 billion in revenue and $1.13 a share in profit Activision booked for 2014.

The company during its earnings conference call said that it expects to return to profitable growth in 2016.
