Second Space Flight of Monkey from Iran
Iran has informed that the space mission has sent second monkey to space this year. The controversial ballistic programme of Iran had failed in September 2011. President Hassan Rouhani congratulated the scientists working on Iran's space programme.
Iran has sent first monkey successfully into space in January this year. The science community raised doubts as there was controversy on the images released of another monkey instead of the one which travelled to space. Due to strict control in Iran, the claims of Islamic nation could not be independently verified. The current flight used liquid propellant, taking monkey named Fargam, on spaceflight.
For the second flight, Iran has not revealed any details of the space programme. In the past as well, Iran has claimed technological breakthroughs, which could not be independently verified. Iran now plans to send astronaut into space in the next step of its space programme. The first flight in January reached a height of 72 miles.
The official IRNA news agency announced the successful completion of second monkey flight into space.
