On Monday, South Korean electronics biggie Samsung updated its EVO solid-state drive (SSD) product page, unveiling a larger SSD --- a 4TB Samsung 850 EVO Consumer SSD, which is priced at $1,500, and includes a five-year warranty.
The update of the EVO SSD product page by Samsung came a few days after the company’s 850 EVO SSD became available for purchase in a massive 4TB configuration at a few online retailers last week, without any official announcement from Samsung.
According to the updated EVO SSD product page, the other configurations – other than 4TB – in which the Samsung 850 EVO Consumer SSD is available are: 2TB, 1TB, 500GB, 250GB, and 120GB.
Highlighting the fact that the 4TB 850 EVO SSD will have the capability to provide super-fast performance and top capacity for to the users’ computers, Samsung said that the sequential write speed of the new capacity is up to 520MB/s and its read speed is up to 540MB/s.
In addition, Samsung has also revealed that endurance rating of the 4TB 850 EVO SSD is 300TBW (terabytes written), which underscores the amount of data which can be written to the SSD before it becomes unreliable.
