Nintendo to release free update for ‘Animal Crossing: New Leaf’ later this year
According to the information disclosed on the Japanese website of the popular Nintendo 3DS game ‘Animal Crossing: New Leaf,’ a ‘free’ major update for the game is scheduled for rollout later this year. The update will go live this Fall.
As per the details shared on the game’s Japanese website, the forthcoming update to ‘Animal Crossing: New Leaf’ – which was first released on Nintendo 3DS in summer 2013 – will not only bring new content to the game, but will the much-awaited amiibo support.
So far as the new content coming to ‘Animal Crossing: New Leaf’ is concerned, it has thus far been confirmed that the game will boast the inclusion of new characters and items from the existing Animal Crossing amiibo and even Splatoon.
As a result of the upcoming update, the players of ‘Animal Crossing: New Leaf’ will be able to use their Animal Crossing amiibo cards in-game, along with amiibo figures from other Nintendo franchises. However, it presently is not clear as to how amiibo and amiibo cards will function within the updated ‘Animal Crossing: New Leaf’ game.
Nonetheless, it is apparent that players will require a New Nintendo 3DS or a Nintendo 3DS NFC reader / writer to get the ability to play with amiibo.
