Lenovo announces new ThinkPad 10 premium multimode business tablet
At its Accelerate 2014 Partner Forum held in Orlando, device maker Lenovo announced an upgraded tablet line, marking the addition of a new premium multimode business tablet - the ThinkPad 10.
The 10-inch ThinkPad 10 tablet announced by Lenovo follows the company's existing ThinkPad Tablet 2 with a new design. The new tablet is capable of offering full PC experience as well as uncompromised productivity with a wide array of business features regardless of the working environment.
The key features of the new ThinkPad 10 tablet include a 10.1-inch 1920 x 1200 WUXGA IPS touchscreen display; a quad-core Intel Atom Z3795 processor with Intel HD graphics; up to 4 GB of RAM; an 8-megapixel rear camera; a 2-megapixel front camera; and up to 128 GB of onboard storage capacity.
The ThinkPad 10 runs Windows 8.1 operating system and boats up to 10 hours of battery life. In addition, the tablet comes with support for the keyboard, docking station, stylus input, with digitizer pen included and a wide range of covers.
The cost of the new Lenovo ThinkPad 10 tablet - which will become available from June - begins at $500. For users who want to use the tablet as a laptop, ThinkPad 10 Ultrabook Keyboard accessory costs an additional $129. Among the other accessories, the ThinkPad 10 Tablet Dock is priced at $119; while the Quickshot cover costs $59.
