Amazon expected to introduce 3D handset at June 18 launch event

Amazon expected to introduce 3D handset at June 18 launch event

With Amazon having sent out the invites for its new product launch scheduled to be held on June 18 in Seattle, technology experts speculate that the company will apparently introduce its much-rumored 3D smartphone at the forthcoming event.

Despite the fact that the invites for the event do not reveal much, except for a close-up of an Amazon-branded black device, it is being widely rumored that the device which Amazon will likely launch at the June 18 event will boast a
3D display. With five cameras in front, the handset will allow for 3D gesture tracking, and will include a horde of other attractive features.

Though the unveiling of a 3D smartphone by Amazon at the upcoming event is widely expected, it was the Wall Street Journal which first reported - in April last year - that Amazon was likely to launch a 3D handset in 2014. More recently, BGR leaked purported images of the design of Amazon's 3D handset.

Going by the leaked details about the Amazon 3D smartphone, the device will measure 4.7-inch diagonally and will feature 720p HD resolution. Equipped with a total of six cameras, four cameras of the 3D smartphone have been designed to facilitate the handset's glasses-free 3-D effects.

Early reactions to reports about the Amazon 3D handset show that the innovative nature of the device has impressed most of the Amazon consumers. While one of the consumers said that the 3D handset is "very real-life and un-comparable to anything I've seen;" another consumer appreciated the fact that the handset is "pretty damn intuitive."
