Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg summoned by Iranian court

The Associated Press has revealed in a recent report that Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg has been summoned by an Iranian judge, to seek response from him about allegations that Facebook apps have breached people's privacy.

The judge has asked Zuckerberg to appear in the court and explain his standpoint with regard to accusations by some unidentified Iranians as to why their privacy is being invaded by Instagram and WhatsApp.

In a Friday announcement, Google's popular video-sharing service YouTube said that it is unfolding a new mechanism for its content creators to make money and manage their accounts while they are on the go.

YouTube said in its announcement that it plans to release a horde of new features "in the coming months," including a separate app for managing channels, as well as crowdsourced captioning, and a way for fans to make direct payments to content creators.

Close on the heels of its recent launch of a number of new initiatives which give the users the ability to share more information, social network Facebook has now announced its 'Privacy Checkup' initiative.

The new 'Privacy Checkup' initiative is now being rolled out by Facebook to all its nearly 1.28 billion users. The new feature will run through all the parts of the users' Facebook page so as to ensure that users are aware about the people with who can see their information --- close friends, networks, or the general public.

In a statement released on Wednesday, online global marketplace eBay notified its users that a company database was recently accessed by hackers in a cyberattack. The company has urged the users to change their passwords.

Informing the users that the cyberattack affected a database with encrypted passwords and non-financial data, eBay said that users who used their eBay passwords for other sites should change the credentials on the other sites too.
