Horsemeat Scam Leads to 66 Arrests in Europe

European policing agency Europol has informed that police in Spain has arrested 65 people of an organized gang for selling horsemeat across Europe. As per investigative agencies, the meat was not fit for human consumption. The suspects have been public health violations, money laundering, forgery and animal abuse, among other crimes.

The dismantled computer hacker network allegedly used a complicated computer virus to pilfer millions of dollars from consumers as well as companies. The sophisticated hacking operation seized private computers and drained off tens of millions of dollars from US bank accounts.

New study carried out on child safety in the United States has found that the violence and crime witnessed by children in real life has decreased significantly. Also, the study reported decline in bullying and sexual assault between 2003 and 2011.

The study carried out by Crimes Against Children Research Center at University of New Hampshire found large decline in assault victimization, bullying, and sexual victimization. The study analyzed 50 different factors and found that there was significant decline in 27 types of violence and assault faced by children.

Reward of $5, 000 for Information on who Mutilated Californian Brown Pelican

A reward of $5,000 will be offered to the person who will provide more information regarding the person who slashed the throat pouch of a California pelican, said International Bird Rescue. The bird was found in a very critical condition with a slit along its entire throat pouch on the beach in the Belmont Shore on April 16.

Earlier, the reward of $2,500 was set by the organization, but now it has been doubled to $5,000. The wounded bird is now under care at San Pedro hospital and will need more surgeries to remove the stitches and repair the pouch.
