Goodwood Race Festival to Welcome Astra GTC and CR-Z Mugen

Goodwood race festival, which is held every year in the months of June and July, will be this time witnessing new cars like Vauxhall’s new Astra GTC and Honda’s CR-Z Mugen hybrid. These cars will be making their first appearance in the public at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. It has been revealed that during the festival both will race up the hill.

According to statistics released by the National Association of Automobile Manufacturers of South Africa (Naamsa) though the starting three months of the year enjoyed strong demands of the new vehicles but unfortunately the month of April has cited an 8% slowdown in the sales growth structure of same.

Domestic sales of new vehicle improved by 23 pc

Sales of new vehicle on a domestic level became better by 23 per cent in March, as against to that of the same month last year, according to the National Association of Automobile Manufacturers of SA (Naamsa).

According to a statement made by Naamsa, the sales of new vehicles, in all the chief segments, had recorded additional strong profits as compared to the corresponding month of 2010.

The average sales of the industry on a domestic level have been progressed by 23 per cent to 53,478 vehicles from 43,541 in March 2010.

In the year 1996, the government decision was approved which was taken to make urban toll roads within Gauteng. In late 2007, there was a good opportunity to object the issue. Gary Ronald, Head of Public Affairs from the Automobile Association (AA) has said that there was no real public awareness for these developments.

People are not aware of the entire Gauteng Freeway Improvement Project (GFIP) and they even didn't show the true extent of the cost per kilometer for developing the roads. In the month of June this year, the electronic tolls are going to be operational.

Toyota invests big bucks on infrastructure in South Africa

Johan Van Zyl, the CEO and President of Toyota came out in public about the largest investment they are about to make in South Africa till date. Approximately R 363 million is scheduled to be invested in a warehouse to be set up in Ekurhuleni, Gauteng. The warehouse would supply new parts. Toyota which has a manufacturing plant set up in Durban, had invested R 5 million in the last 5 years. This project is expected to back up that investment.

On Wednesday, the Indian unit of Daimler AG had stated that it will be investing in the tune of three and a half billion of rupees for increasing its production capacity to double and setting up a new paint shop. The move will be taken as the demand for luxury cars and sport-utility vehicles of the company increased.
