Strong Jobs Data Pushes Dow Jones Towards All-Time High

The U.S. Stock markets jumped on Friday as strong jobs data increased risk appetite among long term investors. Investors are confident that the U.S. economy will report strong growth, backed by strong jobs market. As the U.S. economy depends on consumer spending, strong job market would ensure higher consumer spending in the coming quarters. In June, the U.S. economy added 222,000 jobs. The biggest gains were witnessed in healthcare, professional services, restaurants and government departments, the Labor department report informed.

Waymo partners with Lyft to develop autonomous vehicles

Alphabet’s driverless car division Waymo LLC has confirmed that it will work in partnership with ride-hailing startup Lyft Inc. to develop autonomous vehicles.

Without elaborating specifically on the terms of the partnership, Waymo and Lyft announced on Sunday that they would work together to develop products and technology for self-driving vehicles.

The deal is being seen as an effort of the two companies’ effort to deal a blow to rival firm Uber Technologies’ similar ambitions.

Comcast, Charter reportedly hit deal on joint wireless efforts

Comcast Corporation and Charter Communications have reportedly hit an operational deal to work in partnership on certain wireless communications plans.

On the condition of anonymity, a source revealed that under the newly signed deal Comcast and Charter will only sell wireless services to their respective customers.

In addition, the two companies hit an agreement to only work together to approach any of the key wireless firms about mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) deals. They also agreed not to enter into any material transaction without each other’s consent.

Social networking giant Facebook Inc. is reportedly making preparations for releasing a line-up of TV-style shows on its site as soon as in June this year.

Citing anonymous sources, media outlets reported that the social-networking giant will mainly release two kinds of shows: longer, traditional television-style scripted shows and shorter shows that will be updated by the company on daily basis.

Pentobarbital is a dangerous chemical that is often used to euthanize animals. This chemical has been tested positive in the 13 ounce cans of Cocolicious Beef & Turkey dog food as well as Cocolicious Chicken & Beef dog food.

Nintendo reveals global Switch sales figures

Announcing its earnings for the final quarter of its 2016 fiscal year on Thursday, Nintendo revealed its global sales figures as well.

In Japan, the mobile gaming giant sold 600,000 units of the Switch console from March 3 through March 31, which marked the end of the company’s fiscal quarter.

In the Americas, the company sold 1.2 million units of the new console during the same period of time. Another 940,000 units were sold in Europe, Australia and beyond.

A review of randomized controlled trials has shown that physical exercise including aerobic exercise or strength training of moderate intensity significantly improves cognitive function in people older than 50 years.

Lead researcher Joseph Northey, a PhD candidate at University of Canberra Research Institute for Sport & Exercise, Australia, said that the review of 39 studies showed that thinking and memory skills were most improved when participants exercised the heart and muscles on a regular basis.

A newly-filed proposed class-action lawsuit accuses audio equipment manufacturer Bose of illegally wiretapping a customer via his headphones.

According to the suit filed in a federal court in Chicago, an Illinois resident Kyle Zak purchased a pair of Bose QuietComfort 35 wireless Bluetooth headphones for $350 in March this year.
