According to the two companies, the connected-car service platform which they plan to build jointly will be the “the next generation” of connected-car services.

The agreement between LG and VW to build a new connected-car service platform is threefold.

Bigwig US wireless carrier AT&T has revealed in a recent announcement that it is set to offer the LG G Watch --- the first Android Wear-powered wearable device to be offered by the carrier. Android Wear is Google's brand new platform for wearable devices.

AT&T said in the announcement that it is opening pre-orders for the LG G Watch smartwatch - and also LG's new flagship handset, the G3 smartphone - on Tuesday, July 8. Both the new LG devices are scheduled to hit the AT&T retail stores by July 11.
