Twitter launches an app for Amazon’s Alexa voice platform

On Friday, popular microblogging service Twitter announced that it is launching a new app for Amazon’s Alexa voice platform. The launch of an Alexa app by Twitter means that the Alexa digital assistant can be used by Twitter users to have their tweets read out to them.

Announcing the launch of the new Alexa app, Twitter said that the app will give Twitter users the ability to listen to latest information from Twitter directly on the Amazon Echo speaker or any other Alexa-powered device,

Amazon, which was planning to buy Postmates earlier this year, has today launched a service that will give a head to head competition to it. The e-commerce giant’s new on-demand delivery service Flex doesn’t rely on traditional couriers.

The workers, who will be working with the online retailer on the new service, will get an opportunity to make between $18 and $25 per hour by just delivering packages for Amazon using their own vehicle and a smartphone app through which they will route their deliveries.
